Playing with your message

How can you know if your message is really clear?

Pitch your business to a five-year-old; to your grandmother; to a stay-at-home mum; to your sister who’s about to go to college; to your friend who’s been unemployed for more than two years; to your activist brother; to your ideal client.

Do they all get it? What do they see? How do they describe what you do?

Your message needs to be clear. Everyone should understand what you do, but one in particular should want to know more, should have a question or a comment, and be curious about it: your ideal client.

She’ll have questions and comments because what you do is for her, and about her.

If you find that this is not the case, play a bit more with your message until she really gets it.
